Description of the Organization
1-UTAK is an umbrella organization of various transport groups. Members of this include land transportation vehicle groups such as taxis, jeepneys, tricycles and buses. Admittedly, the organization does not have much hold over taxi drivers since only 20% belong to corporations while the rest are single owners.
Among the various transportation vehicles, only jeepney drivers are the ones receiving rebates from gas companies. Tricycles and buses do not have the same privilege and instead, tricycles buy bottles of fuel from nearby stores. Buses, on the other hand, are more well off since bus operators commonly have their own refueling facilities.
